It was a pleasure to welcome the MA Furniture Design students from Bucks New University to Hen and Hammock last week. As always they kept us on our toes, questioning us about our new product development process, our ethical stance and our marketing. They had lots of good ideas too, so watch this space.
What we are hoping for is another product like the wonderful big scrubber which MA student Ben Baker made for us a couple of years ago. These had the winning combination of a great aesthetic, sustainable materials and functional design. Our only regret is not having kept one for the office!
If you know of anyone with great new product ideas which you think might interest us do please get in touch. Our focus is garden products, but we now have an ever expanding range of home products too. The ideal product for us does something better than existing products (for example it makes better use of waste material) and in someway it helps make the world a better place, such as being from a sustainable source. Not easy, but immensely satisfying when it happens.
