Tobogganing

Soon it will be winter which means snow and tobogganing madness!

Here at Hen and Hammock we are quite the tobogganing enthusiasts, which is why we stock a traditional, handmade toboggan.

Our love for tobogganing was the inspiration for our tobogganing map.  You know what its like, the snow comes all of a sudden and you don't know where to go.  So we decided to make a map of all the best tobogganing places we could find.

We can't vouch for every single spot on the map as to keep the business running we can’t go on a country wide tobogganing tour at every sign of snow. So we would really appreciate any feedback from you or if you know of any good spots and are willing to share please e-mail simone@henandhammock.co.uk

For those of you looking further afield why not take a run on the longest toboggan run in France coming in at 6km at Val Thorens. The start zone is located at the foot of the imposing glacier and features banked turns and variously angled pitches. The run is only suitable for those aged 5 – 88, so those older or younger will need to stay indoors and prepare the vin chaud.

Or why not try moonlight tobogganing at the Wilder Kaiser ski resort in Söll, Austria. The 3.5 km run is opened from 7pm to 3am with an illuminated track.

Les Menuires has the Roc’n Bob, a 4 km run with 22 raised bends and a 450m vertical height fall. With big bends like “The Roc Rapids" and the “Endless Canyon” you are guaranteed great tobogganing thrills.

Keeping up to date on the snow forecast is a must so check out your area here.
