Nutscene

Environmentally friendly gifts for gardeners

Nutscene

It all began in 1922 when the first spool of Nutscene was sold to a local nursery by the jute merchants Robertson Ireland Ltd based in Dundee Scotland. A natural eco-friendly product which fast became the string of choice for gardeners throughout the UK.  Hessian sacks soon followed, perfect for sack races.

The name Nutscene is derived from the famous green twine which, when tied around the plant cannot be seen thus "Not Seen".

Nutscene’s product range today has been considerably expanded in partnership with a number of British craftsmen and women, thus supporting a network of rural business throughout the UK.  Products include oak plant labelsgarden lines and a natural pot brush.

Nutscene strives to use raw materials harvested from renewable and sustainable sources. All the jute twines are biodegradable and all wooden products are manufactured from environmentally managed forests in the UK.
