Immerse the thumb pot into a bucket of water then cover the hole on top with your thumb. Keep your thumb in place until the pot is over the seedlings then lift your thumb to release the water.
All plants, particularly seedlings, respond best to water at room temperature. A good habit to get into is to refill a bucket each time you finish watering so there is one ready for the following day.
If you have a lot of seedlings a faster alternative is a watering can with a fine rose. The rose should be turned upwards for small seedlings and downwards for larger plants.
