Every teak garden bench comes from carefully salvaged timbers, independently audited by both the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and SmartWood. Hen and Hammock does not sell any products which use new teak.
Most of the teak comes from early 20th Century structures because the timbers available from that period were some of the best the world has ever seen.
Each batch of timber may vary slightly, but all are of an extremely high quality with a beautiful grain and colour unlike new teak. If you would like to know where the timber for your bench came from, please let us know. Each bench invariably has a story to tell.
The benches are handmade using traditional carpentry techniques. Each piece is built to last a lifetime.
