Made from the hairs of coconut palms grown around villages in India for ceremonial purposes.
Its dark chocolate colour and hairy texture make it a dramatic tie for bamboo canes and gift wrapping.
The ball of string is also a lovely shape!

Coconut trees are one of those miraculous plants that produce several valuable commodities. Copra is the white flesh from inside the nut which is used to produce desiccated coconut and coir is the fibre which is used to make compost and coir pots. And two halves of a coconut clapped together make a very convincing trotting-horse sound!
