Winter gardening jobs to look forward to:
Leaf mould. Collect up your damp leaves and stuff them into jute leaf sacks. Free compost for next winter.
Manure. Add a thick layer of well rotted manure to your bare soil then watch the worms dig it in over the winter. Don’t add manure to where you want to sow carrots and parsnips.
Planning. Give yourself a big pat on the back for last years successes and think about new ideas. Seed catalogues help.
Building. Repair those damaged fences and start your new projects. Get help.
Tidying. When winter draws to a close tidy up herbaceous plants and shrubs. Leave a little mess though for hedgehogs and insects.
