The classic Hawes watering cans are no longer made at the Haws foundary in the West Midlands, so we have instead selected this similar style galvanised watering can which is made in Poland. This is the closest to home that anyone makes a galvanised watering can now!
A lot of components go into the making of a galvanised watering can. The body, the base, the handle, the spout and the spout support are all cut from thin mild steel. Then they're shaped and rolled on machines.
One of the things that sets the Haws watering can apart is the handle. John Haws hated the single continuous handle from back to spout that was typical of the French 'pot' in the 1880s. The handle on this watering can is different again, a beautiful curved designed that makes pouring easy. It looks stunning too.
