Open fronted nest boxes are more vulnerable to predators than hole entrance boxes, so they are best sited in inaccessible places. This also makes them more appealing to wrens, which like nests to be well hidden. It seems a shame to hide such a stunning bird box, but wedging it in a clump of brambles is probably what the wren would like most.
