Staking tips:
- Place your stake early. Don't wait until the plants need it. Besides which it will give you a chance to show off your lovely rusted flower stakes.
- Try to avoid the roots. These rustic stakes are thin and strong so you should be able to find a gap.
- For asters and similar plants make a wire hoop and attach it to the stake for the plant to grow up through. Alternatively tie the plant in as it grows, but this will need adjusting every couple of weeks.
– Some plants like delphiniums can look best with one stake per stem. An alternative is to position 3 stakes around the plant and to attach wire or string between the stakes to form a triangle.
