Recycling is good for the environment, but re-using is even better. We were at an eco lodge in Ecuador once where the drinking glasses were all old jam jars. It took some getting used to, but why not drink out of jam jars? If you can’t think of how to re-use something, then there is almost certainly someone who can and in my experience the best place to find them is Freecycle. It is an easy way to find people who want the stuff that you don’t.
