Honey bees that are kept in conventional WBC hives will usually have their honey harvested in the autumn and replaced with a sugar syrup mixture to help the bees survive the winter, much like the syrup that can be put into your Bee Station. The mixture should be two parts water to one part sugar and not contain honey unless it is unprocessed honey from the same bees. Using processed honey or honey from another colony risks spreading desease.
