We have sifted through the hundereds of chilli seeds on the market and carefully selected these four varieties, as representative of the main tastes and styles of chilli.
- Cayenne. This is the doyenne of chillis. It is a classic shape, has good heat and flavour and is perfect for curries and Thai dishes.
- Jalapeno. Jalapeno is the most versatile chilli, being less intense than the cayenne and is ideal for nachos, salsa and stir fries.
- Hungarian Hot Wax. Despite the name, this is a mild chilli that grows to a larger size than the others, making it irresistible to pop straight onto the bbq or grill.
- Small red cherry. These fruits have thicker skins and are a little sweeter. Our favourite chilli recipe for these is poppers (filled with cream cheese).
