As the Earthlust water bottles are made from stainless steel they are naturally safe unlike aluminium bottles which need a lining of some sort, usually enamel or epoxy resin, which may contain BPA.
A lot of the water drunk today is bottled in disposable plastic bottles made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET). In recent years, the consumption of disposable PET water bottles has soared to about 200 billion per year worldwide. Of the estimated 13 billion plastic bottles sold in the UK last year, less than 25% were recycled. The rest end up in landfill, where they may take up to 1000 years to decompose, or as litter in waterways and other natural areas.
The Earthlust water bottle is one way to try bring down the number of PET water bottles in landfill.
