This is the sort of bowl which Sir Francis Drake would have bowled before taking on the Spanish Armada. Each one is carefully hewn out of wood off cuts from a local timber yard and finished with natural dark brown stain which leaves a lovely patina.
The forged steel ring and pin are reminiscent of the rings used for tethering horses and there is nice detail of concentric circle grooves around the top. It is a beautiful object which will add interest to your home even if you don't have a door which needs propping open.
12cm diameter with a flat base to prevent rolling.
