These pretty multi-purpose vases can be used for cut flowers as well as for growing bulbs. Growing hyacinths in glass vases was very popular in Victorian Britain and we can see why. Seeing the roots is wonderful, as is having fragrant, home grown flowers ready for Christmas or Mother's Day.

Hyacinths are traditional, but other bulbs can work well too, including tulips, small amaryllis and large crocuses.

All you have to do is pop a prepared bulb into the vase, fill almost to the bulb with water, then leave somewhere cool and dark until the flower emerges. See tell me more below for planting details.

Available in purple, pale green or clear. One of each colour makes for a nice display.
