Poufs go by many different names. They are also known as pouffes, tuffets or hassocks, although the latter more generally refers to a padded cushion used for kneeling in a church. In all cases they are low level stools that are completely covered in fabric that can serve as a seat, leg rest or table and it is this versatility that gives them their enduring appeal.
The fill is recycled cotton rags that are turned into fibre. It makes for a comfortable, firm seat.
