  • Description

Made from hand-forged steel by Steve Davies in Buckinghamshire. A unique gift, for use indoors or out. The tines are properly sharp, so will spear your bread or marshmallows with ease.

The handle has a ring at the end so that it can be hung from a hook and is nice and long, 68cm, so that the crumpet toasts and not your hand!

Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management, published in 1861, regarded the toasting fork as an essential item for a family in the middle class of life. The one she recommended was from Messrs. Richard & John Slack, 336 The Strand, London at a cost of 1 shilling. Our toasting fork is a little more expensive, but hopefully the toast it makes tastes just as good!

    Steve Davies

A true artisan who can turn his hand to anything

Steve is a man of many talents. He is a sculptor, painter, builder and carpenter who makes wonderful chestnut roasters and toasting forks.

Long before it became fashionable to do so, Steve was concerned about climate change and made efforts to reduce his carbon footprint. In the 1980's he sold his van and for 6 years went to work in a pony and cart.

Steve was born and raised in Buckinghamshire, where he lives with his wife, hens and rabbits (for eating). The 2m high blue metal bird in his front garden and the collection of weather vanes on his roof make his house something of a local landmark.

If you would like to see more of Steve and his blue bird, please see his video.
