  • Description

This wonderful toboggan is made in the German Alps from beech wood using traditional craft techniques. It is sleek and solid and performs well on snowy slopes of all types. It is the sort of wooden sledge that will be treasured by all the family for generations to come.

The laminated beech runners are lined with high grade steel which helps with speed and control.

Tested for children's use by the German technical safety authority, TUV.

The toboggan is 90cm long, so is a good size for all the family. Suitable for 2 small children, 1 large child or 1 adult. A rope can be attached to the front brace for towing, but a rope is not included.

This is a classic, well-made toboggan that we have sold for many years.  If you have any toboggan questions, please phone.

At the risk of stating the blindingly obvious, sledging can be enormous fun but it can also be dangerous. Have fun but don’t be reckless. These are the safety tips from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (yes, they really do exist!):
    - Never travel head-first
    - Choose a safe place to sledge with deep snow and no obstructions such as trees or stones
    - Do not sledge near roads or pavements or near water, whether frozen or not
    - Make sure you have plenty of room at the end of the run to slow down and stop
    - Only go sledging in daylight
    - Wear suitable clothing – skateboard helmets and pads double up well for tobogganing

Makers of high quality wooden sledges

Childhood friends Wolfgang and Christoph are an unusual pair of toboggan makers. Wolfgang studied interior design at the Fachhochschule, Rosenheim and Christoph is an accomplished sculptor. They have been designing products together since 1994 and now inhabit a space age production facility in Bavaria.

Given their backgrounds it comes as no surprise that Wolfgang and Christoph have designed some of the best sledges and toboggans in the world. And being based in the foothills of the Alps they are well placed to try them out!

The sledges are constructed from locally grown beech and ash using traditional craft techniques.
