  • Description

This vegetable storage rack is a very versatile solution to the perennial problem of how to store your garden produce. Root vegetables like potatoes which don't like the light can go at the bottom and veg which you use most frequently at the top. It is an easy clean, well ventilated veg store rack that is actually attractive!

Handmade in Dorset out of reclaimed pine. The 3 shelf stack is 51cm high, 39 wide and 24cm deep.

Some vegetables are best left in the garden and picked only as needed. Sweetcorn and peas should be popped into boiling water as soon as possible after harvesting as their sugars quickly turn to starch. Parsnips are best left in the ground throughout the winter so that the starch can be converted into sugars, which helps them roast. And cherry tomatoes should be popped into your mouth as soon as they turn red, ideally on a warm summers evening!

    Ken James

Enthusiastic carpenter with a passion for parrots

Ken started out his working life as a heating and plumbing engineer, but for the last 30 years his passion has been carpentry, making rabbit hutches, averies and hen coops. Seed trays and vegetable racks are Ken's latest products, all made from waste wood donated by local builders.

Ken is also an avid collector. He has an impressive collection of parrots, including macaws, African greys, cockatoos, cockatiels and budgies, and an even more impressive collection of Terry Pratchett memorabilia. His house is an Aladins cave of books, characters, buildings and even a piece of the film set from the Colour of Magic. Its not just for Ken to enjoy though. He has 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren!
