  • Description

Designer tea towels are some of our most popular gifts for Mums and teachers.  Not that they’re the only ones to do the drying up!

This special rooster design is an extension of Richard McAdam’s well-loved, whimsical animaux collection.  A proud black cockerel is set on a pastel blue background with daffodils as tail feathers.  He seems immensely proud of his daff plumage and you know this guy rules the roost in his hen house.  It makes for a stunning illustration.

A matching tray is also available for a larger gift.

    100% linen

    68 x 50cm

    Richard McAdam

    Animaux illustrator and print maker

Richard studied drawing and print making at the National Art School in Sydney and is now one of Australia’s most respected illustrators, operating under the Puddin’ head brand.  His well-loved Animaux collection features hares, deer, cows and peacocks, which are frequently merged with floral arrangements.  There is a seriousness about Richard’s endeavour, but its invariably humorous too.

Richard will frequently draw on historical references, working with immense skill to replicate etching cross-hatches or the textures of woodblock prints.  A successful design can take at least 50 hours to complete, but many get rejected along the way.  Thankfully his latest design, the rooster, made it through.
