    Kim Jenkins

    Kim Jenkins

    Printmaker who recyles London's rubbish

Kim is a London based printmaker who recycles the cities rubbish into functional and striking plant pot holders. She has market traders who save their colourful fruit and veg sacks for her but she can still be spotted “trawling through the rubbish at the end of the day, which often raises a few eyebrows”.

But Kim’s main passion is printmaking.  Kim studied Fine Art Printmaking to M.A level at Camberwell college of Art and now teaches a degree level course at London College and has her own workshop in the city.

In between printmaking and scouring London’s rubbish Kim enjoys traveling and cycling. She combined the two on a trip to Romania where she was inspired by the vibrancy of the country and the people’s dependence on natural resources, not through choice but necessity.

She is also greatly inspired by birds and wildlife, a constant theme that runs through her printmaking from seed packets to jam labels.
