From time to time we come across a product that we think really stands out. The trasket is one of those products. We tried to buy lots, but there was only one available so we asked our clever carpenter Ken to make something similar using reclaimed pine.

For some people its a trug, for some its a tray and for others its a basket. For us its a trasket. A handy place to store all those dittys, gubbins and trinkets that haven't a home elsewhere. Shoe cleaning kit, jam jars, tools and flower pots are just a few of the suggestions we have received.

    W 44cm
    D 25cm
    H 11cm (18cm to top of handle)

When we first found this product, we loved it but weren't sure what to call it. So we ran a competition inviting customers to suggest names. Some of our favourites include:
tisket, tasket, trayg, carry crate, crasket, pine pick-me-up, picnic crate, gubbins trug, ditty box (from the Oxford English Dictionary Pronunciation:/dti/ a receptacle for odds and ends, especially one used by sailors or fishermen), trusket, trugett, carry all, tote box, handy dandy, trox, squrug, smug (everyone will want one, You'll be glad you got it first), basket case - you'll be crazy not to get one, trag, trig, trox, panier, harvest basket, rugket, rugket, flug, trugall, Turners trug, Kens old wooden basket

    Ken James

Enthusiastic carpenter with a passion for parrots

Ken started out his working life as a heating and plumbing engineer, but for the last 30 years his passion has been carpentry, making rabbit hutches, averies and hen coops. Seed trays and vegetable racks are Ken's latest products, all made from waste wood donated by local builders.

Ken is also an avid collector. He has an impressive collection of parrots, including macaws, African greys, cockatoos, cockatiels and budgies, and an even more impressive collection of Terry Pratchett memorabilia. His house is an Aladins cave of books, characters, buildings and even a piece of the film set from the Colour of Magic. Its not just for Ken to enjoy though. He has 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren!
